I am the owner of Imagination Central and my members have been complaining, and I just noticed it in one place of apostrophes (') coming out as ?. I also heard there were other problems as well, but I haven't noticed them yet. Why is it doing that? Help!*edited to add links to example:(this shows a symbol instead of quotations)(this poem has the apostrophe problem)

I am having this problem too, but only on my posts. I use a Mac with Apple?s Safari browser. All of my board?s other members use Windows and do not have the problem in their posts. Until now, I have had no problem with using Safari to access Aimoo. Is this a Mac only problem?

It must be that. I changed language from USA to Australian and the apostrophes reappear. Testing here too- won't it's

Thanks!

No luck here. I converted to Australian and my apostrophes, dashes, sometimes periods, and other punctuation still display as usually a question mark and occasionally a little box.

I?m the only person on our board experiencing this. My theory was maybe it had to do with the fact that I typically write my post in Word and copy and paste it over so I don?t lose a long post when there is a problem, and maybe Aimoo had some recent software change where it can?t read Word any more.

In any case, we?ll have to look into other options if this isn?t corrected. It?s ridiculous for a board not to be able to display punctuation.

This is driving me insane!!! I was able to edit a previous post and take out the punctuation errors... but its not like my site is just a message board, its a message board that hosts stories. Do you realize how many quotation marks, apostrophes, elipses there are in just one chapter of a story alone? It took me a good 5 minutes solid of frustartion just to edit one chapter, and I have 21 of them (and that is just one story).

I am extremely disappointed with aimoo for this problem. When you pay for a board you have to deal with some problems, I realize this, but a stupid bug like this is beyond frustrating and makes my board look unprofessional. I will not attract any new writers to join when their stories come out with weird blocks throughout their text.

I really would like to hear from someone working at aimoo to let me know what the situation is with this problem (i.e. why this happened and what they plan to do to fix this problem so it never occurs again.)

It's things like this that make me question why I didn't orginally pay for ezboard instead. Ugh!!

we have noticed this new bug, it might be caused by our new application server language setting. I have forwarded it to our developers . sorry for the delay.

I now have a Windows user who is having the same problem with her posts, so it's not a Mac-only thing.

Thanks.

I would like to know what the status of this problem is since it is still going on and its been over two months now. It is very troubling for me because I run a site that has full length stories, it took me hours to go back and edit out all the boxes and the added question marks and & symbols out of my own stories. It's really embarrassing and hard to gain members when the posts come out looking like that.

What is the story??

This HAS been a continuing problem on my board as well,Most noticeable when copying from Word and pasting into a Aimoo message window. Like previously mentioned a fear of losing an entire post midway or near the end of an important message has members composing in Word and then opening and pasting the text.

AFAIK it is not a Mac only problem as I do believe most of my members,as well as the rest of the word is running Windows OS's.

Some help would be appropriate and proper.

I don't mean to be obnoxious, certainly not to you Joy because you have been helpful and its not your fault, but I want to hear from administration on this issue. I've emailed them and obviously posted here, but no one has commented on this problem.

I need to renew my subscription very soon, but I really don't want to waste money on a site that can not fix this problem! It's a major problem for my type of message board!
