Hello I am a new owner of a community and  my members are joining my community , some are having a hard time logging in, and others do not know how to post , I have set up for example a surname board, they click on surname and it wont open. If there a place that has all the directions to do this?

I was able to post to your Surname subcatagory, and I had no problems getting any of your subcatagories/threads to open. You do have your forum set so that Anonymous users can veiw, but can't post ... so UNLESS your members are logged in, they won't be able to post.

As far as logging in, I'm not sure why your users would be having a problem ... what exactly is happening when they try to log in?

Usernames may only be letters, hyphens, and underscores. Your user is trying to use a . in his username. Have him try something like L_bergeron and see if that doesn't correct the issue.

Also, if users are having a problem staying logged in ... have them go to your login page http://acadianroots.aimoo.com/LOGIN.HTML and choose the "Stay logged in for: Forever" choice.

not sure if this went through ,but just in case;

some of my members tried to post they cant. I told them they had to log in first. so for example if they want to post in my genealogy category, sub catergory  brick wall or surnames, do they click on these words first??? and then click new post or reply?

I just tried to access your Brick Walls subcatagory and got this message ...

If you are not a member, you can still post your Brick Walls, just leave your email so that we can reach you, joining is better.

You obviously have denied access in your security permissions.

Right Control Panel > Manage > Security > Users Access Type

I followed the instructions. Only Letters, Hyphens, and Underscores may be used for the First Name, Last Name, and Nickname.

Once your users have registered for an Aimoo account ... they will need to click the Join this community link in the upper right corner of your forum. Then YOU will need to go to your Inbox to accept them. Then they will be members of your community.

If they want to post in genealogy they first click that category, then they have the choice to start a new thread / topic or reply to one already there.

To start a new thread / topic they click the new topic link and write a title and then fill in the text box with their post, then click post message.

To reply to another thread / topic they need to click that thread / topic and use either the quick reply box, like the one at the bottom of this thread and click post reply or click the Reply link above the text box which will take them to the advanced editor where they have links for bold text, insert images, font size colour etc.

To insert images into posts tell them to look here for info on how to do it.
