Some of my pages have a scroll bar bottom and side.  See here:  http://graphicgurus.aimoo.com/Graphic-Request-Board/page-request-please-1-1669358.html

Is this a new problem that Aimoo is experiencing?

  • Re:  Tips to insert a music file in your thre... 11/20/2009 11:43 PM

I still do not understand. I have my own piano music that I want to upload to a post in a forum. I have no choice except GENERAL (no advanced option)...I select WMP and have no clue what URL to put..if I leave that space blank, I go to the browse and find the song and click insert, but when I post, the WMP is there, but no song. WHAT URL do I use??? Where my song is on my PC???

Oooh, that's an absolutely Scary thought.   LOL

At least it really is easy to deny and delete them.  I'd just like to go back to happy anticipation when I hear those "Celestial Bells" and see my Aimoo Mail Box Blinking instead of cringing.   Ha!

oh you're not alone I assure you, it happens with most forums style sites at one time or another. They see forums as a good place to spam for some reason.

I used to get them a lot back at MSN from time to time too, but they really do stop eventually, it just takes a little while for them to realise they're not getting in.

Look on the bright side though, just think of the mess you'd be clearing up if you had an open forum.

  • Re:  Applications from 'Porn Stars' 11/20/2009 10:25 PM

Thanks, Dev.  I couldn't  imagine what I'd done to invite this.

I checked to make sure that the group is locked up and nothing personal or 'interesting' is visable and I couldn't think what else I could do.  Anyway, it's good to know that (1) I am not alone, and (2) most importantly, it will stop in time.    Yukky people!

    Thanks again.

     sorry to hear this Dorothy,

Sadly this is just one of those things that happens to everyone now and then, and there's not much you can do I'm afraid, except keep rejecting them. They "test" a forum for a while to see if they can get in to add their spam posts, but give up eventually and the requests then stop.

  • Topic Applications from 'Porn Stars' 11/20/2009 9:54 PM

There are Porn Stars in my Inbox.  What am I to do?

Actually, this isn't funny.  I'm getting one or two request a day to join our very small private group from people who's names are just a string of letters, and who offer an opportunity to see all their Porn Sites if we welcome them.

Is anyone else having this problem?   Am I not dressing modestly enough, so that I'm attracting these kinds of people?    Sheesh.

I really want them to go away and leave us alone.    Granted, it's easy enough to deny and delet them, but I hate to open my Inbox anymore.

  • Topic Response from CILM (Anthony Guerra) 11/20/2009 7:55 PM

I can't find the original topic and to be honest, I wasn't even sure what board this should go on, but I thought I'd post it here.  Both my question to clarify what I was asking him and what he wrote back to me.

     Dear Mr. Guerra

There is a great deal of confusion in some of our AIMOO groups over this part of the CILM TOUs and I'd like to clarify it with you.

    4. CILM WILL ALLOW your group or website to have a Donation Button AS LONG AS THE FOLLOW CONDITIONS ARE MET:
    (a) A Donation may NOT be a "requirement" to join your group or access your site.
    (b) No other digital image licensing company affiliate programs may be used in a group or on a site that has a donation button and is using CILM artwork.

I'm referring to section b. Now in AIMOO there is a donation button in all the groups, they are not a condition of membership, they are simply there and I buy the membership myself as the owner of the group, but where the confusion is coming in is this:

Some are saying, we can only use CILM art in the group because of that and we are not allowed to use any other licencing art we have bought, like Gorjuss, Barbara Jensen, MPT, AMI or any others. Is this true? I hope not, because it would mean that if we can't use all the art we purchase from the various licencing sites (as these artists tend to move around a lot between all of the various licencing companies) then we'd have to stop buying PTU art and just stick with YES artists.

Thank you for clearing this up for us.

    Regards
    (Real Name) aka Sassy

His reponse - Anthony Guerra (email address removed for privacy reasons)

    Hi There,

    Great question. 8o)

Please disregard this part of the TOU. We will be removing it. The explanation: There was a time when CILM and MPT were not the best of friends (still aren't) and when this term was brought to the forefront we were right smack dab in the middle of a lawsuit with MPT and we didn't want there artwork in any way used in conjunction with ours so this is why this term was placed on our site. Time has gone on and we still don't want their artwork used with ours but this is more of a personal term for our company and should not reflect on you and your fun. This is why we are removing it. You should be able to have fun with all company artwork. Hope this helps and our sincere apologies for the confusion, Anthony Guerra

    http://www.cilm.com

    ******************

So I hope this clears up all the questions, yes we can use all the various PTU licencing artists from various sites in our groups, as long as you are following the TOUS and have your licencing info clearly showing on your tags.

    Hugsssssss
    Sassy *S*

Sorry Sassy, I had to edit to remove Anthony's email address as you're not allowed to post emails addresses in here. Hope you understand. Dev

  • Topic Help with getting members to join my for... 11/20/2009 10:30 AM

Hi, i have created a forum that i wanted to be private, for myself and members of the music band i am in only. I only want those people to be able to read the forum and post on it. I followed the instructions on how to lock the forum and set permissions so that no annonymous users or aimoo users can see my forum. Only members.

So, my problem is - how do i allow the 6 people in my band to become members and join my forum? I tried to test it myself by signing out of my aimoo account and then making another account so i could see what other people see when they try to look at my forum. But when i did this, i couldnt see any way to request to be a member of my forum or join.

Can anyone please help with this?

    My forum is http://zenerdiode.aimoo.com/

    Thanks

    Dr Otto

Yes, the skins for Trendy Version and Classic Version are seperated, but there is also a skin named thanksgiving for the Classic Version.

Yes chery, and the name of the skin is thanksgiving. If you want to change your skin, access your forum control panel > forum management > skin & style > my skin collection > add more skins, and then apply. Please give it a try.

Angel, we checked with your account and there's no code below the thread as we post. We also checked the forum you belong to, the code not below every thread you have posted. So please double check.

  • Re:  Mail 11/19/2009 5:49 PM

Do you mean your Inbox..Personal Messages? If so there is no way to forward theses. They must be viewed online.  OR are you talking about true emails..like receiving Group emails? If so you can change your email address for these under:

control panel>profile update>edit profile>scroll down to email address...change it and save

I wish I could find the post I responded to not long ago over this same incident. When you put the code into html is shows 2 small boxes side by side. Have you added anything to your signature/header/footer area? Check there for extra codes.

If you can't find it then please post the url to the forum it happens in and we can have Admin check this out.

     sorry Angel,

I'm afraid I don't know what's causing that code to appear so I can't help. Maybe one of the other mods will have an idea when they come online later.

  • Re:  changing icons( i hink) 11/19/2009 10:15 AM

     Hi,

go to your forum control panel and look in the Skin & Style section for Forum Icons. This shows all your current icons and there's a button beside each one to change it. Just click the button and load up your new one.

You might need to clear your browser cache after you're done before you see the changes, but they do take effect straight away otherwise.
