There seems to be an ongoing problem with the "Today" section of our message board, which is supposed to show the last 20 posts that have been filed and give you the ability to respond.

Invariably, when a post is filed (and twice by me now) it erases all the previous 20 posts from the page and only shows the last post, which is usually in an abridged form, and without the date & time it was posted. It also does not show the "read" button (on the right-hand side) that a member would use if they would like to be taken directly to the thread to respond to the post.

Two examples of this are my posts on the thread, "Favorite Christmas Movie Moments." On the actual thread they are filed under, the posts are perfect. However, on the "Today" page they appear in an abridged form.

A perfect example of this problem is the last post currently on our "Today" page: the post is supposed to show two pictures, but on the "Today" page it only shows one. It is also missing the date & time, as well as the "read" button on the right. The second example is the post that begins, "There's a lot of ground to cover here" (currently the fourth one down -- but that might change by the time you read this). On this post, the "read" button and date & time of the post are on the bottom (not on the right). In addition, the last paragraph of the post was cut-off.

Again, let me stress, on the thread itself, the posts are perfect. So why then aren't the posts appearing correctly on the "Today" page?

Please help us with this problem; a lot of people that visit our message board only go to the "Today" page to read our messages. Therefore, many people are not getting all the information the posts are offering.

Here is a link to our "Today" page so you can check it out: http://forum1.aimoo.com/theyulelog/TodayTopics.html

I can see all 20 last posts, all looking normal to me, apart from one where the times and view / read link button is at the bottom of the post, maybe due to the posting being quite wide (maybe a copy n paste block of text?), so to speak. It might be that the posts are so long the today page has a cut off point so only shows a certain amount of the post.

No, there are only 13 posts showing. And it's the post on the bottom of the list that is the better example of the problem. It has no date, time or read button -- plus it only shows one of the two pictures on the post. When I filed this post, it eliminated everything on the page. There are 13 posts there now because subsequent to this happening, 12 posts have been filed by our members.

Last week this same thing happened; I filed a post and it cleared everything on the "Today" page. The one thing these posts I filed have in common, is they have either have pictures or links, but that shouldn't be causing this problem.

Do any of you moderators know where the hell the Aimoo administrator is?

I haven't had to wait this long for an answer since the notorious conversion debacle.

Oy vey...

Nope ... when the admins disappear, they don't notify us either.

So many posts have been filed since my original message, that the 2 posts in question are no longer in the Today section. However, I have posted several messages with pictures and links since then and they appear fine in the Today section. So this might be a sporadic problem. The next time it happens, I'll let you know right away so you can check it out.

I have another question: if the first post on a thread with multiple posts is deleted, does it delete the entire thread including the subsequent posts?

Actually, we have the function to cut off the post content if it is too long as Karrier indicated. However, it is cancelled now concerning your feedback. Please double check your Today's page and tell us if you still find the issue. And we would like to tell you the rest posts will be deleted if the original post or topic is deleted.

Yes, everything is fine, and thanks for turning off the function that was cutting off the post content on the Today section.
